Children's Work

Our Children's Worker is Katie Burtonshaw, and Katie is supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Several children's groups for ages 0-13 run at GSG Baptist on a Sunday morning, with additional events taking place throughout the year.

Each of the groups listed below meet every Sunday morning from 11-12pm, except when there is a Family Service on the second Sunday of the month.

Sunbeams - pre school aged children

Sparklers - children in reception, years 1 and 2

Trekkers - children in years 3 to 6 at primary school

Y Zone - children in years 7 and 8 at secondary school

For all the groups each session begins with a drink and biscuit.  We use a dedicated Children’s Ministry Teaching Resource for each relevant age group.  This is a structured programme which provides a variety of fun activities including craft, Bible stories, action games and music, helping each child to discover more about God’s love.

The Children’s team meet together regularly to share ideas, support each other and ensure that the Children’s activities are running smoothly.

Please note that the Sunbeams meet in the Sunbeams room next to the Church office and parents may use the room at any time during the Church service if they need to but they must stay with their child outside the regular Sunbeam times.

Fun Clubs

Fun Clubs usually happen every six months with the intention that children can invite their friends along to Church for a fun packed, party style club with a Christian message.

Other Activities

Other events have included a film fest, run as an alternative Halloween event and a New Years Party.

If you have any questions about the chidlren's work at GSG Baptist please do not hesitate to contact the church office or speak with Katie or one of the leaders.
