Youth Work

Several groups meet throughout the week:

Thursday Nights: For young people in Years 7-9.  Meets in the Church youth room from 6.45-8.15pm.  Team: Diane, Michael, Laura Bowdery, Rachel Elms and two young people from The Friday Night Project.

The Friday Night Project: For young people in Years 10 and above.  Meets in the Church youth room from 7.00-9.30pm.  We begin with a social time before breaking into small groups for Bible based discussions run by the young people.  The first Friday in the month is Worship Celebration night in the church with the youth band.  Team: Diane, Michael, Laura Bowdery, Rachel Elms and Joan & Maynard Newman.

1st and 3rd Sundays: Young people in Years 10 & 11 begin in church but go to their own group in the youth room after the worship.  2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays they stay in church for the whole service.  Sixth formers and above stay in church every week.

Passion – the young people from Churches Together in Orpington meet together regularly for praise nights as well as weekends of social action.  These events are held at different venues in the Orpington area.  In May 2010 we hope to have a Slum Survivor Weekend, so check it out at www.soulaction.org/slumsurvivour

Soul Survivor – We stay in tents at this huge Christian youth festival held at the Bath and Wells Showground near Shepton Mallet in Somerset each August.
